Do I need planning permission for my Kitchen Extension?
Only if you are planning on extending over 6 metres away from the rear of your property. Or 8 metres if your house is detached. Permitted development projects are slightly quicker and come with slightly less paperwork. We can help you with all aspects of planning and building regulations.
How long does a loft conversion take?
From the day the scaffold is erected, we aim to complete our loft conversions in 6 weeks. This can vary depending on the size and specification. The preparation however can take the most time, there are many things to consider such as; Architectural Drawings, Structural Calculations, Party Wall Agreement, and Building Control Approval.
Will I need to move out to have a loft conversion or extension?
No, a loft conversion is very minimally invasive, and the staircase is one of the last parts to be complete, meaning there will be very little interruption to the rest of the house.
You also shouldn’t need to move out for an extension, but some people like to, as there is a little more interruption to the existing house. But the majority of the build is done externally before “knocking through”. Again, we always try to work in a way that doesn’t interrupt our customers everyday living, you might just be restricted to microwave meals for a week or two if you’re getting a new kitchen!
